The University of Arizona Global Campus Promise is a financial commitment made to new degree-seeking undergraduate students. The UAGC Promise enables these students to have the opportunity to experience the UAGC online platform before formal admission, ensuring it is the right fit for them. With the UAGC Promise, students may attend the first three weeks of their first course without any financial risk.

Effective January 1, 2026, students indicating they have 45 or more credits in transfer may opt to waive GEN 101 (which is typically the first course students take). This change allows students with academic experience to begin their core courses earlier in their enrollment. However, regardless of the first course students take, the UAGC Conditional Admissions Period (CAP) and Basic Academic Requirements (BAR) remain in place.

During the first three weeks, students are placed in a Conditional Admissions Period (CAP). During this time, students who are dropped, opt out, or do not demonstrate sufficient academic progress will not be admitted. To demonstrate sufficient academic progress and meet the University’s Basic Academic Requirements (BAR), students must have a cumulative course grade of 69.5% or higher as of Day 6 of Week 3.

The cumulative score is calculated using the grades from all Week 1 and Week 2 Discussion Forums, Written Assignments, and Quizzes. For this reason, it is important that faculty enter all Week 1 and Week 2 grades prior to the BAR deadline (Day 6 of Week 3) and refrain from grading Week 3 modules early.

Please note: all faculty teaching undergraduate students in their first course (even if it is outside GEN 101) are responsible for meeting BAR-related grading requirements to ensure the institution can execute CAP-related processes. These requirements include:

  • Posting all Week 1-2 grades Sunday night (Day 6 of Week 3).
  • Not entering Week 3 grades until after the BAR review (Tuesday, Day 1 of Week 4).
