At its core, the UAGC Culture of Care fosters a community grounded in trust and belonging, providing opportunities for individuals to thrive academically, professionally, and personally. In other words, a Culture of Care means we pair academic challenge and high expectations with unconditional support for our students, all anchored in an ethic of care and accountability. It’s part of who we are as an institution: an open-access, online university that holds itself to high standards while practicing flexibility and inclusivity. UAGC’s vision, purpose, and mission reflect these ideals, and our Culture of Care is how we bring them to life

UAGC defines five core pillars that embody the Culture of Care. Conveniently, they form the acronym “C.A.R.E.S.”: Communicate, Advocate, Respect, Empower, and Student-Centered. These five pillars guide how we interact with students (and colleagues) every day. They remind us how to enact care: Communicate proactively, Advocate for our students, show Respect for everyone, Empower others to succeed, and remain truly Student-Centered in every decision.
