New faculty members are enrolled in Faculty Affairs's New Faculty Experience (NFE), a two-week onboarding curriculum. In week one, new faculty members complete a series of asynchronous modules that orient them to Canvas, explain the UAGC Culture of Care, spell out the Faculty Course Requirements, and present other topics relevant to new UAGC faculty. (These modules are available to all UAGC staff and faculty for self-enrollment in Workday.) Faculty members must also complete specific HR tasks, such as FERPA and CLERY training, as part of the onboarding process in week one. In week two, the new faculty work one-on-one with a faculty coach to complete a simulated course in Canvas. This simulation allows UAGC faculty coaches to observe the faculty member in a classroom environment and allows the faculty members to apply and practice what they learned in week one. If you have questions about NFE, please email FacultyAffairs@uagc.edu.
