Q. Canvas: How can you unlock Discussion Forums in Canvas courses?

Discussion Fourms in Canvas can be "locked" in select courses with a message that "users must post before seeing replies". 

To unlock the Board:

1. Click on the discussion forum you want to edit.
2. Click on Edit next to the Published button in the top-right corner.
3. Under Options, uncheck “Users must post before seeing replies”.
4. Click Save.

IMPORTANT: Instructors should never lock down a discussion.  Also, before unlocking, reach out to your Program Chair for approval.
