A few select courses have Group Assignments. These are specifically denoted in the curriculum and should not be done unless directed. If this is directed as part of your course curriculum, then you are encouraged to email students and post an announcement regarding the group assignments.
Instructors grade only one assignment per group, assuming the group members submit the same content in their assignments. You would then manually enter the same grade for all group members.
Grading best practice is to copy and paste the summarized feedback to each group member so that all group members can view the feedback. Also, in regards to the “marked up” assignments (in-text feedback entered in Waypoint within the assignment), once you have “returned" the grade in Waypoint, you would download the graded assignment as a pdf and export it to your desktop. Share the pdfit with the other group members so that they can see the “markup” feedback.
To do this:
- Go to the returned assignment in Speedgrader.
- Wait for the Waypoint feedback from the Instructor to populate, as it may take a moment.
- In the Waypoint feedback in Speedgrader, you should see a place to “View Markup Document.”
- Click on the file, and then download the document as a PDF to your computer desktop.
- Attach the PDF document to the Speedgrader summarized feedback area for each of the other group members.
Please view the SOP linked below to assist with your tasks for these assignments. You can also find this SOP in your course under "Modules" and then "Instructor Resources."
