Are you aware that faculty can connect directly with students by emailing them from the discussion forums? Faculty can use this tool separately to acknowledge student’s participation and work by sending a specific compliment about their post, or provide additional feedback and coaching. Faculty can also connect with their students through the Canvas inbox, mobile app, and Signalz.
In the discussion forums, instructors can click on the student’s name by the profile image/picture to send an email message
After clicking on the envelope icon, this is the view faculty will see:
You can also send emails to your students through the Inbox in the Canvas classroom.
Click the icon to “send a new message.”
Choose current course>students>then choose which student(s) you wish to send the message to.
